To combine two elements of a painting to make a powerful intriguing statement was my goal in this surreal painting. Tension is evident with a desire to be set free from the bond. What was my inspiration?...
I live by the sea and buoys are in abundance on the approach to a harbour - they fight against their anchors on the sea bed as the waves  topple them hither and thither - maybe they want to break free and are shouting Let Go! ? Of couse they are not but I love to let my imagination run wild and to paint those imaginings.

But you the viewer may have an entirely different interpretation - we all see our own translation and combining symbolism with surrealism generates many different interpretations, such a joy.
