simple minimalism called - So Simple

Is there any such thing as simple minimalism? No, the art is to make it look simple -  include nothing else but the essentials and it is difficult to make, at least for me.

The Japanese were perhaps the first to paint and design in a minimal way. Minimalism now abounds in our cluttered world. Many artists have become minimal painters, I think it takes courage to do that. Minimalism - the way to say a lot with a little.

Here is a minimalist painting  painted in pure watercolour. The subtleties of watercolour can be used to great effect in the art of simple minimalism and this example demonstrates the beautiful delicate transition of colours within the greys. Any medium can be used to create a painting but watercolour has powers that are sometimes beyond other media.
