What is a genuine minimalist painting? A painting that attracts and holds your interest by what you don't see.
Minimal paintings leave out anything that detracts from the intent and in my approach do not define entirely what is there. A delicate balance which for me anyway is hard to achieve but I am happy with this artwork.
This genuine minimalist painting reveals details reluctantly after a search - and then you discover more. That is typical of my minimal art which cannot be appreciated with just a glance. It can be perplexing to try to understand what it is that is interesting, perhaps it is the way it whispers to you. The Japanese word "ma" means space, pause, air and more; and this painting has that name.
