Modern surreal art -Radiate

Mention surrealism and Dahli springs to mind and those early works were so different from anything seen before - modern surreal art has evolved to relate to our current culture. The properties of surrealism remain unchanged with some of them being -

the unexpected, the apparent nonsense and the outrageous.

They give the artist a poweful way to express themselves and some of the properties of surrealism are used in this example. The painting is subtle, joyful and a little mysterious but above all fun - the way this artist felt when painting it perhaps? I always paint emotions and this one was lighthearted.

Modern surreal art is not usually painted with watercolour but this piece is. Watercolour is a wonderful medium that lends itself to blended colours and transpararency which as you can see is used throughout this piece.
