emotional world war one art - Tommies
I have painted a series of emotional world war one paintings and this piece is particularly poignant. Tommies was the affectionate name for British soldiers by their German counterparts during the Great War (later renamed World War One); it is a title that endures to this day. In the hallowed grounds of Flanders Fields, rows upon rows of Tommies rest, a forever reminder of their sacrifice and solidarity. This emotional world war one art pays homage to the enduring bonds forged amidst the chaos of battle.
This painting along with several more was part of an exhibition called Dialogue with Death - click the link to see more
