Archive of Original Paintings by Alan Brain

This archive brings together original paintings that are no longer available — works that have been sold, gifted, kept in my studio collection, or otherwise retired from sale. Each piece represents part of my artistic journey and reflects the themes that have shaped my work: Space, Solitude, expressive abstract  figures, the pull of Aviation Geometry, Minimalism, Surrealism and my deeper responses to War and Pollution.

Every painting here is a one-of-a-kind original created by me in my U.K. studio. Many now reside in private collections across the U.K., Canada, the USA, Europe and Australia. Others remain in my personal collection because of their meaning or their place in my development as an artist. Some of the paintings  have been sold via international art societies such as The Royal Watercolour Society and The Society of Canadian Artists in Watercolour

Alan Brain

Internationally recognised artist with work in many countries. He is now in the UK, you can see his details in Art in Dorset - he paints most days in his studio gallery there

Each of these  archived paintings punctuates my journey and not once have I strayed from creating genuine original paintings. My journey like most artists began with realism and although satisfying at the time it soon became apparent that new steps were needed in order to create a true reflection of his passion. Abstraction became the norm..
