This painting is a combination of minimal and surreal probably more minimal than surreal but does it matter? Not at all, it is not important just a useful way to describe paintings.
My goal as an artist is to stir an emotional reaction within the viewer and I have used most any genre to do that. Combining minimalism with surrealism is one powerful way, in this case to create a sense of mystery with some weirdness too. Hopefully it will hold your interest and inspire you to imagine.
Painted in muted watercolour with some hints of brighter colour that lead your eye through the painting. The shapes too are linked but are hard to find in places, that of course is delibrate.
This art is one of a minimal surreal paintings I am excited to be creating and I must acknowledge that amazing artist Paul Klee whom I admire and who has influenced my work without doubt.

Are you interested in how I paint a minimal painting? I do not think there is one way for all to follow, each of us should find their own way (I can help with my personal art tuition) but my postmaking a minimal painting shows my approach.
