The artwork combines surrealism and minimalism with geometric to deliver its message in a quiet voice. Colour of course is important to set the feeling required and these subtle greys finish this piece.

Subtley rules

Making this surreal minimal painting was challenging at all levels not least the subtle shades of grey. Greys can readily become uninteresting but are wonderful when they work. The small symbols too were demanding - they needed to be defined enough to be recognisable, the tendency was to make them unmissable. Subtlety rules.
