For Reigate Art Society

Thank you for the opportunity to meet with you all at the Reigate Art Society Evenings we did together. I hope you got some pointers that will help you along your artistic journey.

You will recall I started to paint to illustrate the points we discussed which were –

….find someting you feel strongly about to paint

… paint like a child, directly, spontaneously, without inhibitions and rules to follow

… see shapes not objects and arrange them to make the feeling you want to make

…colour those shapes in with passion and assertiveness.

remember every painting is an experiment and you have permission to fail. failures develop knowledge, successes give pleasure.

I finished the painting, here it is. Notice the simple but interesting shapes and vibrant colour, and recall I love hats!
