Paintings About Pollution - Our Fragile Environment

These paintings are my reaction to the consequences of pollution on our planet. Using surreal abstraction they explore my concerns that crystallised during a journey through the vast unspoilt Mojave Desert on the way to Taos New Mexico - I just had to paint them, I completed them all on reaching Taos.

Industrial encroachment into the Mojave desert is a steady process - like the Amazon forest it could soon be gone forever.

Nature is wonderful - driving through the Mojave I was reminded of the beauty of untouched places and wanted them to remain so.

That long journey made me truly appreciate the natural world and how vulnerable it is to encroachment and pollution.

The Series

Each painting is different, but all are environmental art motivated by the same aim - to make pollution visible.

Another Strong Art Series

I paint a series driven by a strong emotion from within. I visited Flanders in France to see the war graves from World War One. It changed me and I expressed my hatred of war in the series Contemporary War Paintings.
